The Princess's Secret Slide

One of the secret levels in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS. "Bowser didn't know about the hidden star(s) here!" If the player falls off, he/she won't lose a life, but will be sent back to the castle lobby, but like other secret levels, the player can lose a life by taking damage until the power meter reaches zero. In this case, the only way to take damage is to jump from the first part of the slide to the second part of the slide, resulting in damage, due to falling from heights.

Star 1
Mario must ride the slide all the way to the bottom and hit the ! Block to collect the Star.

Star 2
This second Star will only appear if the player reaches the bottom of the slide in under twenty-one seconds. This Star will appear behind the first Star.

The entrance to the slide is on the first floor, atop the central staircase, and behind the star door labeled "1", meaning it would require 1 Power Star to enter. In the room behind the door are three identical stained glass windows with images of Princess Peach on them. The one on the right is the entrance to the slide. In the DS version, the room is expanded to hold the character doors but the slide itself remains the same and is still accessed via a picture of Peach in the same room.

Probably so she can enjoy herself whenever she wants to.
I know I'm not the only one that read that differently. XD

I was in awe when I first found this slide. I loved going down the slide and racing to the bottom. I went down a few times after I got the stars, just for fun. Of course, that was years and years ago. =P
Betcha you got a lot of lives from doing it to avoid a Game Over.

I liked the World 4's slide better. (I forgot its name, though  ;D)
Though, I really like this slide too! Well, I like all the slides...  :)
I do like all the slides, but this one is the only one that doesn't let you lose lives.
Though, I rarely lost my life in W4 slide. And it has a great shortcut!

Yea the one in the Snow World where you raced the penguin and it had that long tunnel you could sneak through.

It does, but it only has a couple of lives there. Can't use it during the race with the penguin.

Still, I rarely race with penguin. BTW, I liked that Princess's Secret Slide was a battle course in SM64DS!

Yeah, but you don't have that much room to move around, though. I've never done an actual battle, though.

Out of the battle courses, this was he worst of them - Once you reached the end, you could get 3 stars - but you never could leave that area!

Yeah, you had to fight to defend yourself. Fight to win!

Why doesn't anybody think that Tall, Tall Mountain's slide was the best slide? It's always Princess or Snow. :p

But yeah, lots of fond memories of this slide. I did get all 80 coins though, but I was pissed off that there wasn't a Star for doing that. :p
