The Mysterious "What's this?"

I'm not sure if any of you have come across this...but certain stuff you click with the Gameboy Horror, it shows a message saying, "What's this?" with a question mark in a black box.

Does anyone have any idea what this means exactly?

Not sure. I don't think the developers believe that Luigi know every object he comes across to search.

When you come across this, it could be either a Boo or a Ball/Bomb hiding under the furniture. The Boo Radar will flash red when you're close to it.

When you come across this, it could be either a Boo or a Ball/Bomb hiding under the furniture. The Boo Radar will flash red when you're close to it.

That doesn't always happen with the message "What's This?," if you do happen to search for a Boo, Boo Ball, or a Boo Bomb, you will also get a black square with a white ? inside.
