Splatoon or Super Mario Maker?

I don't see why you're asking this when Super Mario Maker doesn't come out until 2 months, but whatever.

If I were you, I wait until Super Mario Maker comes out since that game looks like it'll have more content than Splatoon. Plus, it seems like you're more interested in that game than Splatoon.

If you like creating levels and sharing them, go for Super Mario Maker. If you like third-person team-battle shooting with ink, go for Splatoon.

Splatoon is getting a huge amount of content in an update that's coming in August.

I know that. I'm just saying that he seems more interested in Super Mario Maker than Splatoon, which is why I suggested that he should just wait. That, and I'm pretty sure that Super Mario Maker would still have more content than Splatoon, even after the August update.

Super Mario Maker by a landslide!
Awesome content compared to Splatoon! ;D
Have you even played Splatoon?

It depends on what you want more.
I love Splatoon personally, my favourite Wii U game, and I own 18 so that's pretty significant for me.
You could just get Splatoon now,.
In my opinion, SMM is better and has more content, like creating levels, sharing them, 100 Mario challenge, etc. Splatoon is just a game where you shoot ink at each other. SMM allows you to interact with one another's creations.
(and no, never played it, but have seen plenty of footage)

Splatoon is not a game where you just "shoot ink at each other".
Watching footage is not anything like playing the game.
The different modes, shops, events, that's more than shooting ink at each other.

Alright, I guess for now I've decide to get SMM, but I may revive this topic later. Also, what is this big august update I keep hearing about?
New gear, more new stages, and matchmaking. Basically, 4 friends can get together and fight together as a team against others, or 8 friends can do customized private lobby 4v4 battles.
They're also adding a new mode in Ranked Battle called Rainmaker.

Wait, they're adding that in August?

cool strawman

Splatoon looks a lot more fun and will probably give you more hours than SMM.

Tbh, I got Splatoon, and I got bored of the game around 2 weeks.

I will say, that I'm not necessarily hyped for Super Mario Maker, and that  I might come back to the game after the new August update, but for now, I would rather wait for Super Mario Maker for now.

If you ask me though, Yoshi's Woolly World looks better than both, but that's just me.

I would say for this answer - it depends on the kind of game you're interested.

You're comparing 2 completely different kinds of games with this. One's a Online-Multiplayer Shooter while the other is a Creative Sharing Platformer.

You have your pick out of the two, and since SMM isn't released yet there's nothing else to honestly go off of for that.

...I'd say SMM regardless though because I love being creative and sharing those creations with others, and I love platformers as well. :p

That's what everyone's been saying. You have a good point though. I would be more interested in a game that allows me to be creative and make levels for the series I have always loved than a brand new multiplayer shooter game.
