Note that this show is from 1987.


Damn, i have to say i had low expectations going into this given I'm a guy and was told it was on the "girly" side but still had to watch after seeing the intro on youtube. For the most part it was..."Truly Outrageous" and a ton of effort went into it obviously.

Random thoughts

- If i have ONE major gripe with this show it would be Jerrica keeping JEM a secret from Rio. Was that **** even necessary? The only thing it seemed to accomplish was showing he was a cheating a****** who apparently "hates liars and deception" and she was no better playing him as both identities.

- Those music videos were ****ing awesome and the show had a way of transitioning from story into them that felt very natural and fitting. Too many shows have done it in an irritating way.

- The songs at least in my opinion are purely "hit or miss" but lead more to hit. Not too many sappy ones and between holograms,misfits, and stingers there are quite a few really catchy ones. Think i'll get an mp3 of a few if i can.

- Eric Raymond is one hell of an antag.

- So that's what mayor west was watching in that family guy episode...

- For a show that was supposed to be girly, there sure was a lot of manslaughter/attempted murder going on. To the point where half the antagonist should have went to federal prison.

- I believe NC missed jem on the "dumbasses in distress" list.

- I want to see this remade into live action.

- Riot - lol Ok ok i really liked the episode with his father. Pretty good drama for a cartoon at that time. Still, that was just the type of generic character i should have expected in a "girly" show but he wasn't THAT annoying.

- Watching the last episode at the beginning my hopes were set low as far as getting closure at the end but it pulled it off right at the end in classic fashion with all the vital characters together and it was fitting for a girl to finally leave the foster home...mansion...bleh...


I'm sure i'm missing things but whatever. The insomnia is wearing off and just wanted to get my thoughts in. I really enjoyed it and it's aged quite well animation and quality wise imho. Sure, there are cringe worthy moments at times, i probably wouldn't go suggesting another guy watch this, and i spent a lot of time making fun of illogical things in the story but that was all part of my fun.
 
Whoever thought this show was worth watching should get their head soaked in hydrochloric acid.

@NPCC: I agree that Aegis' comment was un-needed, but so was what you said. If you felt his comment was disrespectful, etc, you should have reported it, arguing back doesn't help and just makes things worse.

@Ether: Don't chime in trying to make things worse please...

*Sigh* While i COULD continue my fun and point out Aegis utter fail excuse for reading comprehension OR the fact that he is showing serious mental gymnastics when responding to my post AND the fact that he's the one whining as someone finally called him out on just how incompetent he is as a troll....I'll just stop and let him save face....this time.

Alright, enough. Stop trying to start a fight. -_- Back on topic, I've seen a few episodes of Jem and it's alright; It's theme is great. :p Though no one else I know really watches this though.

Also, I heard a marathon is going to air on the Hub soon.

I wish i knew that was happening before i marathoned the thing though to the shows credit, it really wasn't that bad in large doses.  Now if it was something like scooby doo i may have had a nervous breakdown.

Theme song is indeed awesome. (Not the "jem girls" one but the other that is also a longer version of the end theme.)
