Yoshi's Woolly World Review
For those of you who didn't know, Woolly World takes Yoshi's universe, wraps it up in yarn, and sets Yoshi down in the middle of the greatest catastrophe in Yoshi history! The evil Kamek is back, and this time he wants nothing more than to turn every living Yoshi into bundles of yarn, also known as "Wonder Wool." Yoshi and his buddy just manage to escape, and set of on an adventure to save their friends. (But you probably know this all already, right.)
Because this is my first Yoshi game, I'm not sure what I was expecting
GAMEPLAYwise. This game is incredibly fun to play, from the yarn throwing action, to the joy of simply using the flutter jump to stay in the air for much longer than Mario could. The multiplayer mode, while being helpful at times, can get extremely annoying. While it can be fun battling your friends by eating and throwing them, if you actually what to beat the level and your friend wants to eat you at every opportunity he gets...well, you can imagine how annoying it gets. But that doesn't mean that the mode itself is bad, it just means that you have an annoying friend.
However, if you still want to have another Yoshi with you on your adventure, this game has amiibo support. Tapping an amiibo on the gamepad, makes a partner Yoshi appear, similar to the double cherry in Super Mario 3D World. This game also supports pretty much every single amiibo in existence, even if Pokemon amiibo just gives you an amiibo shirt to put on your Yoshi. Overall, amiibo support is very strong in this game.
A game's
SOUNDTRACK is very important to me, and Yoshi's is not disappointing. even though you can hear similarities in the different levels music, it still sounds great.
This game's greatest downfall is probably it's
REPLAY VALUE. That's not to say that it's bad, its just saying that it's the worst part of the game. Even though all the collectibles in the game keep you playing for a long time, if you play to much, the game seems to get really tedious. And it has a simple cure: Take a break from playing. That's really my only complaint about the Replay Value.
FINAL VERDICT
Gameplay: Although some people complain that it's too easy, I think that it's fine, multiplayer is still annoying though, 8/10
Graphics:
7.8/10 Too Much Yarn Lots of yarn is nice, but the graphics do get kind of boring, 8/10 (again)
Soundtrack: Amazing soundtrack, very nice to listen to while playing, 9/10 (I need to get better at scoring these things.)
Replay Value: Like I said, bad if you play the game too much, good if you play it about twice a week, 7/10
Average Score: 8/10
(This review took forever to make, and as I said up there, I need to get better at reviewing games.
