Watching KaBoom fireworks may cost a little ka-ching this year if you want a prime viewing spot in Riverside Gardens Park.

Borough Council members voted Wednesday night to allow the KaBoom Fireworks on the Navesink Committee to charge $10 admission for adults and $5 for children over age 10 to view the July 3 KaBoom fireworks.

In other matters, the council voted to unlock the gates at Count Basie Park earlier, so residents can get in a walk or other exercise before going to work, and agreed to apply for a $500,000 state grant to rebuild baseball and other playing fields there.

Essentially they're just charging for a spot to sit & watch them, so that makes sense a lot more sense. I've been to places before where they charged you to get into where they were shooting off the fireworks (there were also booths and stuff set up, but everyone was pretty much there for the fireworks)
