Rainbow Ride

It is the fifteenth and final course of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS. It is accessible in the highest room in Princess Peach's Castle, which also contains the gate to Tick Tock Clock. Rainbow Ride is not entered through a painting, as with most courses in the game, but through a hole in a niche opposite to that of Wing Mario Over the Rainbow. Rainbow Ride is a level with very little backtracking, and offers different paths around the level to different Power Stars, which makes it possible for Mario to collect them in any order he desires. Rainbow Ride is set in the skies, and the player has to use several flying carpets to get from one platform to another. Enemies on his way are Lakitus, Bob-ombs and Amps, rarely Goombas and Fly Guys, and several Fire Spitters. There are platforms which fall down when the player stands on them for too long, and circle platforms which spin rapidly. It can be accessed by collecting 50 power stars and reaching the big star door on the third floor.

Stars:
Star 1: Cruiser Crossing the Rainbow
Star 2: The Big House in the Sky
Star 3: Coins Amassed in a Maze
Star 4: Swingin' in the Breeze
    Star 5: Tricky Triangles
Star 6: Somewhere Over the Rainbow
Star 7 (DS): Switch Star of the Manor
Star 8: Collect 100 coins (not shown in star selection screen, Star 7 in N64 version)

In Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Super Smash Bros Brawl, the stage appeared under the name of Rainbow Cruise, which was actually the course's Japanese name in Super Mario 64.

This world is very fun, but like other past worlds, watch your step here. I actually enjoyed getting the 8 red coins in the maze, it was fun. The stars are, as usual, easy to get. The "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" Star can be tricky at the end, since there's a Chuckya there, so beware. This final world is a nice touch to finish the game, lol.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow was super easy for me. :p Kind of disappointing for the last regular course mission.

I really thought the Tricky Triangles! area had a nice aspect to 3D platforming. It really was exciting when I first played it. The Star, on the other hand, was tricky to get that I got mad seconds after. :p

There's a shortcut that can help. Taking the long path is difficult, since you barely have time to reach the destination.

Rainbows!  c:

Any which way, I liked this world.  :p  I didn't like the Blue coins much.  I loved exploring the Pirate Ship.  =D
Rainbows!

It's one of every colour!  ;D
...and on a magic carpet ride, too! (It's like a high land)

...I never like those flying carpets, though...
The flying carpet's path has obstacles in their way, which can hinder the player's progress there. Also, the carpets disappear if Mario does not touch them over time.

This may be the longest level. My favourite part is the Magic Carpet  :)

Technically that's the whole stage except the Tricky Triangles and Red Coin hunt. :p

"Cruiser Crossing the Rainbow" is a bit difficult. Watch your step when you try to get the first Power Star as Metal Mario. You can't get the Power Star as Mario because the winds are too strong for you.
There never was a Metal Box around the cruiser. But there is in the DS version, and it would be Metal Wario instead. Metal Mario here is impossible.
So, there is no Metal, Vanish or Wing Boxes there? You might as well have to use the cannon.

You don't use the cannon to get the star that's on the ship. You have to push your might against the strong winds.

So, there's a pole in the way. "You have to push your might against the strong winds."; For your information to correct everyone, I did that before.

You only have to use the cannon in "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".
