I voted for Action-adventure, role-playing, and shooter.

I only voted for shooter because I can't live without my Metro 2033, MGS (to an extent), and RDR.
Well damn, those are my preferred ones as well.

I love my FF's, Fallout's, MGS's, and R&C games. One genre I'll never be interested in is life simulation; It's boring as hell imo.

Mainly platforming, action-adventure, RPG, and "Tycoon" games (Rollercoaster Tycoon, etc.). Favorite platformers are Crash Bandicoot and Donkey Kong Country, favorite action-adventure games are Spyro The Dragon and Banjo Kazooie, favorite RPGs are Final Fantasy and Secret of Mana with a little bit of Chrono Trigger, and then obviously Rollercoaster Tycoon.

For those who like RPGs, what kind of RPGs are we talking about (combat system wise)? Something similar to FFXII, Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout, Infinite Undiscovery (free, open combat); is it like FFIV/V/VI/VII/VIII/IX where it has a gauge that when filled give you your turn; or is it like a traditional, turn based RPG like the MOTHER series, older final fantasies, Lost Odyssey, Dragon Quest, etc.

For me RPGs are a definite must, I like both the turn based and the Fallout series.

I like the ATB gauge system simply because I love the feel and the speed of battles. The turn based system feels so strict and limited to the actual gameplay. The ATB allows you to plan your attacks more wisely and to sort of guess what your future will behold. I also do like the gameplay elements in Mario and Luigi as well. It is so different from any RPG standpoint (besides the obvious turn based element) that it's enjoyable. Overall, I truly think Final Fantasy IV - IX has the best RPG type gameplay.

Pretty much RPGs or Life Simulation games. And Tower Defenses, if it's like PvZ, since I hate games like King Rush or Bloons Tower Defense.

I have to say that turn based is better- I am not good at quick battles. XD

RPG's and fighting games...

I don't really prefer anything anymore. :/

Fighters, Rpgs, kart racers, and platformers. My favorite fighters being the Dead or Alive series, Street Fighter series, and Fighting Vipers series. Favorite RPGs being Final Fantasies 1,2,4,6,10,10-2, and Shining Force. My favorite kart racer is Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing.  Platformers being SMB2, Sonic Advanced series and Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 and Sonic Heroes.
