I've been watching a new anime recently. I think one piece is one of the best anime out there. It's up there with Naruto and Bleach. does anyone else agree? Feel free to discuss One piece itself, if you like it or not, funny moments, openings and endings, characters, etc.


I started watching a while ago and I'm on episode 159 right now. One piece is defiantly the most original anime I've seen. I hate how 4kids butchered the dub of the show. I couldn't stand one episode of the 4kids dub. Funimation on the other hand made the dub much better. It's the uncut version and it did very well.

Naruto and Bleach both suck, what'chu talkin about?

One Piece is ok, but definitely not one of the finest animes.
 
One Piece is one of my favorite anime. I've read the manga all the way to the Arabasta Arc and watched the anime for the rest of the story. It does start out a bit slow since the intros take up like 60 episodes. :p but it gets better once it gets to the Little Garden Arc.  My favorite parts has to be the Enies Lobby Arc while my least favorite has to be the Skypedia Arc.

I agree with that. The skypia got so irritating and it was long and boring. I was glad when it was finally over. The Enies lobby was definitely and interesting arc. "I WANT TO LIVE!"

One piece is awesome because it has Action, Comedy, character development, creativity, and some serious parts.

What did you expect? He's Kubo Tite's (Bleach manga author) best friend. So there has to be a 2 year skip

I watched all of One Piece during the summer (I even watched like 20 episodes per day to catch up by my birthday) and I don't regret it. Just can't believe that I watched so many episodes :p Currently reading both anime and manga.

I read the Manga before there even was a show and right when it was first released in the states cause I be on my Pirate Grind all day.

I got pissed when 4Kids picked it up cause they changed Zoro's name to Zolo and it still fucking stays that way in the Manga. I literally have the first 4 volumes calling him Zoro, and then in Volume 5 they randomly call him Zolo. I was all "You got to be fucking kidding me." So because of that I kinda dropped off One Piece altogether. I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS say I will just read it all at once again, but never do (and I just keep falling further behind as the story progresses).

The last thing I remember is them being trapped in a Whale with the first introduction of the "numbers" and "holidays" guys*. They got out the whale, and that's the last thing I remember in progression. Since then though I caught a couple random chapters with Crocodile (and the last battle) but I don't know what started the civil war and all that. Also caught a couple chapters with Buggy and Luffy in the Prison going down in levels (which was hella epic). I know they keep getting better in better in chapters, which is what I liked about it, just never got the motivation to keep reading cause I hate reading jpegs of scan on the computer.

*Either that was the last thing I read, or when they escaped from the port and clutches of Navy dude 'Smoke' or whatever. I'm even getting bad on names :p But yea, either the whale thing, or escaping from the clutches of Navy dud Smoke and Buggy was randomly there too. Which ever happened last was the last thing I read as far as 'straight story line' reading goes.
