This is just a small wish list of a Mario Kart/SEGA All-Stars Racing crossover I would like to see, since Sumo Digital actually hinted its possibility.
Nintendo racers: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Yoshi, Wario, Donkey Kong, Bowser, Rosalina, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Captain Falcon, Villager, Isabelle*, Pikmin and Olimar, Pit, R.O.B*, Excitebiker*.
SEGA racers: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Blaze, Sticks, Dr. Eggman, Metal Sonic*, AiAi, Amigo, Billy Hatcher, Beat, Ulala, B.D. Joe, Ryo Hazuki, Gilius Thunderhead, Vyse, Nights, Alex Kidd*, Hatsune Miku*.
Other racer: Mii.
* = DLC
This equals a total of 43 playable characters.
Courses: Although some courses return from past Mario Kart/SEGA Racing games, about 3/4 of the courses are brand new, taking inspiration from games like Super Mario Galaxy, Kirby Air Ride, F-Zero, Sonic Heroes, Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, House of the Dead, among others.
Overall Gameplay: Basic driving and flying return from both series. Nintendo characters use gliders, while SEGA characters have their vehicles transform. Underwater sections can now take place above or underwater. Additionally, Anti-Gravity from Mario Kart 8 returns. Drifting and tricks have been modified so both series stay consistent with each other. Coins appear for Nintendo tracks and Rings appear for SEGA tracks. Items take inspiration from both Nintendo and SEGA games. Returning from past SEGA Racing games, the "All-Star" item randomly appears. Every character has a unique All-Star move and theme.
