Hey guys, it's Timmy. So being obsessed about Brawl, I finally decided to host a Brawl tourney on MPL! To sign up, simply post your Friend Code and name you use for Brawl!
Gameplay Rules:
- 3 Lives.
- 8 Minute Stock Timer.
- All Items OFF AND set to None.
- All characters are legal, and you have freedom to switch around after each match. (Don't quit mid-match though just because you chose the wrong character though... if the wi-fi timer runs out and you're stuck on random, reset the match)
- Don't stall. This includes (but is not limited to): going somewhere where your opponent can't reach you (like going under the stage as Sonic and constantly using his Homing Attack) or doing an infinite/chaingrab/wall trapping your opponent past 150%. However, running away from your opponent is totally fine.
There will be a ledge grab limit of 50 though, so players do not abuse the ledge invincibility. If one player goes over it, they automatically lose. If both/neither players go over it, then the ledge grab limit is ignored. (and don't worry about keeping track of ledge grabs, the results at the end of the match can show that
)
- If the time runs out, DO NOT play sudden death. Whoever has more lives and the lower % wins.
If, for some really awkward coincidence,P) both players have the same lives & same % or die at the same time (either suicide move or time runs out with both players at same lives and same %), redo a match on the same stage with the same characters with 1 stock and 3 minutes. I will put a Ledge Grab Limit of 20 should it come to that.
- No gameplay changing hacks. However, music & texture hacks are fine (as long as they don't freeze/desync the game).
- Sets are best 2 out 3 (except for grand finals where it's 3 out of 5).
- This is a double elimination bracket, meaning that if you lose 2 sets, you're out.
- Game 1 MUST be played on a stage from the Neutrals list, while Game 2 has the loser of Game 1 pick the next stage from either Neutrals or Counterpicks. And if necessary, the loser of Game 2 (but winner of Game 1) picks the next stage from either Neutrals or Counterpicks for Game 3. However, it'd be ideal if you could announce what stage you will counterpick to, so that it's guaranteed both players choose it and that stage is played on.
You may play on a stage not on either stage list IF BOTH PLAYERS agree to it on either Game 2 or Game 3.
General Rules:
- Be a good sport! Don't complain too much about losing; there should only be one excuse for losing, and that's being outplayed. Likewise, if you win, don't rub it in too much. =P
- If you are having too much lag, please tell me ASAP. You can have a few practice matches before the real set to check out lag and make sure everything is fine. Make sure no one is downloading anything and you don't have too many programs on. =P
Ideally, it'd be best if you could get on Skype/AIM/MPL Shoutbox/whatever with the person you're brawling against to communicate with them before/in-between matches.
- Ragequitting/intentional disconnection will result in a warning, followed by a disqualification for the one who did it. Please don't do this, this tourney is just for fun. =P
If the game freezes or unintentionally disconnects, restart the match.
- When I post the Bracket, you guys will have at least 1 week to do your set. If it is not done within the deadline, I will unfortunately have to randomly decide who moves on.
- I have the right to edit/add/remove rules if I remember any or people demand I do so. Feel free to ask questions/needed clarification on some things.
