Most Overrated Characters

What characters do you feel don't deserve the attention they're receiving?

For me, it's Geno, the Koopalings, Groose, Kratos, Cloud, and Jet the Hawk.

Gen 1 Pokemon.

If you had been a fan since the beginning, you wouldn't of said that. A lot of people like myself grew up with the first three generations, that's why a lot of people praise those the most, especially Gen 1. There's many different people growing up even now and playing Pokemon, some like Generation 4 the best, Generation 5, and even the latest Generation 6. The reason why we boast those first 150 Pokemon so much is because we've had the longest attachment to them, aka, we've known them for so long. That's why we have more of a opinion on them, and sometimes praise them more.

Of course, I'm not agreeing with the Gen-wunners who say the latest games suck, Generation 1 forever, no. But I do think Generation 1 has many great Pokemon, just like the rest of the other generations. So I disagree with saying they are overrated.

I couldn't agree more! Like you, I started getting into Pokemon around the time Ruby and Sapphire came out, as my  figure collection can show you. I continue to follow each new installment and adventure and find new Pokemon, worlds, and wonders to fall in love with, but there are those Pokemon you first met long ago, when discovering the wonderful franchise that will always mean something to you. I believe in one big, happy 719-(and growing) member Pokefamily!

Are you excluding Mew?

Regarding SZ's post, I guess you mean all the first 151 Pokémon are overrated, but really, if there is one of the 151, who would it be? Pikachu, just because he's the most known Pokémon in the world and the top Pokémon mascot? Generation I Pokémon have been here for more than 15 years, and the rest of the generations aren't even that old yet as of now.
