The seventh course of Super Mario 64 and its remake (Super Mario 64 DS). As the name suggests, it is a course filled with Lava. There are many traps in the course compared to most previous courses. The primary enemies in the stage are the Bullies, which, true to their name, try to push the player into the lava surrounding their platforms. One even serves as a boss. There are also Firebars, a Mr. I, and many Podoboos that jump out of the lava and bounce on the floor. Unlike in most other Mario games, the lava does not immediately defeat the player; instead, it depletes their power meter by three and bounces him/her into the air. Landing on a flat surface causes him to run around erratically. Fortunately, there are no bottomless pits to take away a life instantly. Highlights of this stage include a sliding puzzle that forms a picture of Bowser, many tilting platforms which easily dip the player into lava, and a rolling log along which the player must run.

The entrance to Lethal Lava Land is a painting of what appears to be a fireball with an eerie face, and it is located in the basement of Princess Peach's Castle. Defeating Bowser and getting the key to the basement from Bowser in the Dark World is required to access this.

This was a neat level, they had to have one with lava somewhere I guess, but the volcano was my favorite part of the level.

...wing cap... well there goes throwing away tons of lives for nothing.
 
This was a favorite of mine too, but this world was definitely waaaaaaaay too easy. I think the only remotely hard mission was the Hot Log mission since that damn log rolls wicked fast. :p

So when completing the Power Star, "8-Coin Puzzle With 15 Pieces", the pieces can move and can easily make you fall into the lave if it slips off your standing point.

Don't be too aggressive when pushing Bullies into the lava, just watch your timing on when you do that.

So when completing the Power Star, "8-Coin Puzzle With 15 Pieces", the pieces can move and can easily make you fall into the lave if it slips off your standing point.

Oh ya? Watch me - I'll take out those Bullies like they were nothing at all! (Seriously, I'm always aggressive against them - they're too easy)

You could, unless you avoid the pieces shuffling around, which can dip you into the lava.

The lower left and lower right corner pieces never shuffle around. They're always where they are.

That is right. If you are standing on the puzzle and it completes, some coins will appear!

Well how you were describing the pieces moving quickly, made it sound like you died due to them.
