Mr. Game and Watch doesn't offer much in terms of appearance, being a stick figure. ROB is a robot, which look better than stick figures IMO.

Category 2: Abilities

ROB has the ability to theow gyros, fire lasers, and fly like a jet, but most of his attacks lack power. G&W has very powerful attacks in hammers, diving helmets, and torches, can turn into an octopus, and can even use enemy projectiles against them.

Category 3: Actions

G&W hasn't done anything significant in the games he's in. This point goes to ROB for getting the video game industry popular again during the NES days for fooling people into thinking he's a toy.

Spoiler

G&W doesn't show that much personality in the games he's appeared in. ROB in the SSE suffers from a tragic villain showcase, and cares for the other ROBs that kamikaze to explode Subspace Bombs, being the last one left, regretting his decision of bringing the World of Trophies into Tabuu's Subspace.

ROB doesn't have much variety on what he does, being a gyro launcher and stack-up device. G&W is involved in all sorts of styles, like being a chef, a judge, a custodian, a firefighter, and more.

G&W is motivated by his own desire to try out new things, as seen in the variety of games he has. ROB, on the under hand, is motivated by his master that created him, making him a puppet rather than a character with desires.

This point goes to the more addicting games, and G&W's variety of games is more addicting than Gyromite and Stack-Up IMO.
