A lot of people say Luigi is underated but  is he?Lets take a look at the games luigi got a playable role in.

Luigis manison:The game that made more people like the man in the green it played a lot different then his brothers games.

Super Mario 64 ds:This game had Luigi as one of the three new characters people used him for his high jumping.

Super Mario Bros:The game that give Luigi his first playable role not many people  knew him back then.

Super Mario Bros 2:This game was the frist that let player one pick Luigi and had his high jumping.

Super Mario Bros 3:Maybe a down grade only player two can pick Luigi.

Super Mario World:Same story only can be used if you have a player 2.

New Super Mario Bros:You can use him at any time by pressing the R button.

New Super Mario Bros 2:It looks like he can only be used in local multiplayer.

New Super Mario Bros Wii:He can be used in Multiplayer or if the player takes control of the super guide.

New Super Mario Bros U:Can be used in the whole game.

Super Mario Galxey:He is playable after you beat the game with Mario atleast he is playable.

Super Mario Galxey 2:playable in  some levels and all of the levels after bowser.

Luigis Manison dark moon:Some as Luigi Manison but he faces new foes and goes to new manisons.

Super Mario 3d Land:playable after speical world 1.

Over all I do not think Luigi is underated he gets in most mario games and has 2 games.

To be honest, I don't think Luigi is even close to being called underrated in the present day. Back a few years, yes, he definitely was underrated. However, he now has developed his own personality and character and appears almost as frequently as Mario himself. Luigi being second to Mario is just a reference to his character now, so I wouldn't call him underrated at all. He has a lot of fans as well to back him up.

I think they make him underrated on purpose to add humor to the game. Now Toad, he's underrated.

Agreed on both parts. Toad and Toadette are especially both underrated as well (hardly playable outside of Mario Kart and Party these days). NSMB U would have been the perfect opportunity for them sadly (hopes the two receives better attention later on).
