Nintendo has confirmed that the Link amiibo figure will be compatible in Hyrule Warriors, even though before, it wouldn't support amiibo figurines. There is no concrete information on how the amiibo support will be utilized in Hyrule Warriors yet, but what do you think it will support on?

EDIT: It is confirmed that the Link Amiibo figurine will get you a new weapon to use in-game. The weapon is the Spinner, the weapon from Twilight Princess, mainly used in Arbiter's Grounds.
Zelda Amiibo will also give you a new weapon, but it is not yet disclosed on what it is. Sheik and Toon Link will also be getting support.
In fact, all amiibo figurines for Smash Bros. for Wii U will be compatible with Hyrule Warriors, but will only give you random materials and rupees.
