My choice is Donkey Kong Country because honestly keeps staying fresh and never repetitive and every level has some kind of twist to it, not to mention the music.

Exactly what I would say. DKC is one of my all time favorite series and the reboot is just as great, if not, even greater for many reasons. I never have as much fun with other platformer games. When I keep losing, I actually want to retry, I want to keep going and get to the next level. I only have great memories with each game. It's a feeling I don't have from NSMB and it's several incarnations. Though, I still have to play DKC:TF, but from what I've heard, it's even better than DKCR.SmashBoo said:

Super Mario World is considered part of the "Super Mario Bros. series".
3D Land and 3D World are separate entirely from Super Mario Land and Super Mario World.
I would say the 3D games.
Sunshine and 64 are probably my two of my 3 favourite games of all time.

World or Yoshi's Island. I voted for Super Mario World; none of the new games really do it for me and I have a few nitpiks with Yoshi's Island.
I think Super Mario World was the peak for the 2D ones.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 is one of my favorites.
