I think the release of the 3DS might make DS games retired. Ever since the DS was released, GBA games became retired not to long after the DS came out and that might have been the reason the DS accepted GBA games. Another reason DS games might be retired is that since the 3DS plays DS games that might mean DS games will retire soon after it's release. When the Wii was released it was made to accept Gamecube games, months after the Wii's release Gamecube games became retired. It really depends on how many people that buy a 3DS to see if DS games are going to be retired.

I don't know if they will. The PSP Go, if you know, uses memory for games, but they still make the games for regular PSP's. I am hoping that they will still make DS games. It would be stupid not to.  :p I mean, they just made the DSi XL, they should still make DS games for a few more years, otherwist that's just a waste of money.

Just like the GBA and Nintendo's other predecessors. They will still make games for the Nintendo DS but as the 3DS becomes more popular over the next year or so, Nintendo will stop making games on the Nintendo DS I'm sure.

Thats the way it always goes.. A new system comes in and the old games become obsolete. The only exception is the PS2. They're still making games on that thing and the Ps3 came out a few years ago.

Thats what I was thinking and with the DS being the top selling console ever, they might want to keep it going for a while. I think if the 3DS takes off and sells very well, then they will most likely stop.
