Does anyone know what anime movie this is?

Ok, so I watched this anime movie 5 years ago. The plot is that a girl's parents get lost in the fields, find an abandoned carnival, and eat the food at the carnival which turns them into pigs. The girl then discovers that the place is full of ghosts and she meets a boy who is also a dragon who tells her that she needs to get a job working for the spirits in order to get her parents back. In the end there was some mean ghost witch who asked the main girl to choose her parents out of a group of pigs, but the girl said that her parents were not there, and the movie ended when she saw her parents again.

Anybody know the name of this movie?

Anything by Hayao Miyazaki is great. Spirited Away is probably one of the best.

I would give him more credit, but honestly, I think his movies are way too overrated.

It's just not my art style and i've seen way better. That's why I only have seen 2 of his movies.

Pretty sure Robert Ebert isn't an anime fan.
Pretty sure Gene Schlabotnik isn't an anime fan.

All of these critics have a fan following, so i'm assuming it's not only anime fans.

Meh, I prefer watching Satoshi Kon's films, but Miyazaki's work is pretty good. =P

I wanna say this was the first anime film I've ever seen; I saw it in  2002 (back in the day when Pay-Per-View was free )


I really enjoy this film, and it's not because of the "hype" it's gotten, cause I've seen it randomly on TV/Pay-Per-View on my own Only later to find (like 3 years ago) the "over hype" it's gotten, but I legitimately enjoy the film, so I don't see what's wrong with a bunch of other people enjoying it either.

Another one that I enjoyed from the same company/producer/director was Howl's Moving Castle (I would recommended that one next for Spirited Away Fans). I saw Ponyo; it was good for one watch, but I probably won't be watching it again any time soon. Not saying it was bad, just something I'm not begging to have on DvD.
