Blame It on the Crane

Time Limit: 60 seconds.

A 1-vs-3 mini-game from Mario Party 4. It's similar to Crane Game as the lone player must capture the other three with an actual crane. The team is placed in what looks like the capsule/orbs in the future Mario Parties (maybe they inspired them?). Shy Guys are placed in the mix to hinder the lone player.

I like this better than Crane Game as it's more fair on both sides, but I think the team has the advantage for some reason. I'm good at both sides but I prefer being on the team. My strategy is to go clockwise, which is the direction the wheels spinning, then I go counter-clockwise to avoid the crane when I'm near it. It works for me, hard computers do something something similar. It's a fun mini-game.

This mini-game is easy whether you're on the team or using the crane. As SirYoshi said, I use that method to avoid the crane easily. But it gets hard if you're surrounded with Shy Guys, as the player/computer with the crane can time it carefully. Being played as the crane is fun, although it can be a bit long. Computers with the Shy Guys tend to delay my progress by going in the opposite direction of the wheel.

Extremely easy to win either way LOL

When I'm on the team of 3, I go with the direction of the roulette once I'm near the player with the crane so I just speed through the unsafe zone. :p
I've never seen a CPU grab a Shy Guy before...

If I'm the lone player, since for WHATEVER reason CPUs (even on Expert) NEVER go with the flow of the roulette, they just try to delay their time but it makes them an EXTREMELY easy target and easy to grab. I've never grabbed a Shy Guy lol

Also note that the crane can do 1 final grab even if the timer runs out so if you're under the crane and get caught you still lose. :p
