Just because i'm putting this here doesn't mean I like the show. =P
Here's a little review I did on the matter. =P
Folks. Remind me never to take a dare again. Because it can result in dire consequences. I recently took a dare to watch some anime, and someone suggested Azumanga Dioah. I have heard of the show before, but never actually got around to watching a few episodes. So, seeing as I wanted to see the show's premise from the start, I started with the pilot episode.
It was the worst show i've ever seen so far. Really. Only 4% of the episode's joke are funny and it is downright boring. It's sort of like watching an after-school special. All it really is is girls blabbing about their day, spreading typical high school rumors, and getting into MEGA PLOT TWISTS LIKE, HOW TO CURE OSAKA'S HICCUPS? OMGOMGOMG.

The first episode wasn't really that bad of an opening for the show to come. But boy, it certainly wasn't funny. The Opening Credits made me cringe with terror as I hear that stupid Jap Pop music. After a whole minute of a pointless opening, we get to see ANOTHER pointless scene in which the students are just...walking, and some random disc is flying in the air...ok. Whatever. We then cut to this teacher named Miss...Yukarie? The very first "joke" of the series begins when she begins to have bike problems...yeah. Bike problems. A student comes along to help her when she totally FREAKS OUT ZOMG ZOMG. It turns out that the bike chain was loose. Ok, wow. That was so funny. ohohohohoho
So after she steals the student's bike, goes to the school, gets to the wrong classroom, then finally enters the right one, we are introduced to probably the most cliche characters. A 10-year-old child prodigy, an emo tall girl who barely talks, a girl with ADD, a pretty brown-haired girl, and a girl who's just...normal. The 10-year-old quickly becomes noticeable around the school, and HILARITY ENSUES OHOHOHOHOHOHO.
I don't even want to explain it that much. Take a look at the vid yourself (And the other parts if you want to). It's merely just a borefest and most of the puns and jokes in it are seriously not funny. The second episode introduces a girl nicknamed "Osaka", because she hails from...Osaka. HAHAHAHAHAHAH In the dubbing version, they make a Southern US girl play here. I didn't know Japan had Southern stereotypes that talk like a Texan Hillbilly too!
Overall, it's just plain awful. I want to crucify that girl with ADD so much.
