I'm going to give some quickie reviews for every 3DS game I've given some fair time. Will rate 1-10 solely based on enjoyability.

Mario Kart 7
7.5/10
It's a decent game, as much as any other Mario Kart is a decent game, but it's extremely boring. It has my lowest number of hours of all my retail games (save for Majora's Mask, but I've only had that a week), and it was the first 3DS game I bought.

It's literally MKDS with good graphics and a poorly implemented gliding mechanic which is essentially entirely useless. Has more characters, too. But no mission mode, and worst of all, no blockfort.

TL;DR Decent game, if you found MKDS boring, don't buy.

edit: Okay after getting to Mirror Mode and playing it more I have to say ot's a fair bit more interesting. Not perfect, and the difficulties before 150 were pretty meh, but it's more fun when your enemies aren't functionally crippled. Rerating to 7.5. Still doesn't hold up to long hours of play though.

guess i'll do more later, gotta go.

Smash Bros. for 3DS
8.5/10

I like Smash. Was somewhat disappointed with the lack of a few a stages (see: Pokemon Stadium) and Ice Climbers / Pokemon Trainer / SNAAAAAKE, but it's awesome as hell to be able to play Smash on a handheld. The lack of more custom options for matches is kind of annoying too. I mean, what happened to health battles? And custom stages in Brawl were awesome. So, a lot of good stuff missing, but still a good game.

That being said, it's pretty fun. Though I got tired of it on my regular 3DS, once I got my N3DS XL I really got back into it. Started playing a lot of Smash Run (which is actually pretty fun, but the inability to choose how many opponents you have / their difficulty is pretty annoying) and playing online a bit. It's almost an entirely new game with the big screen, namely because I can actually see what's going on. :p

Some of the new characters are pretty cool. Pacman and Megaman are pretty awesome, as are Mii fighters. The addition of alternate attacks for customized fighters is pretty sweet as well and adds a fair bit of variety, though I only ever use it on smash run. Has some cool new stages, too (Tomadachi Life, for one) though some are just annoying (Find Mii). They seem to have gotten a bit lazy with the smashes though, and there are a lot more generic final smashes than there were in Brawl. Even Kirby got his cooking pot replaced with a 'WOO IMA JUST SWING AT WHOEVERS NEXT TO ME' attack.

TL;DR I'm crap at reviews, buy.

Pokemon Omega Ruby
9/10

It's Pokemon, like any other Pokemon game, and as someone who absolutely -loves- Pokemon, that means it's pretty effing great. AFAIK it's basically Gen 3 with better graphics and Mega Evolution (since I never got that far in the original Ruby), and it's pretty good. Though it doesn't have some of the customization features and robust environments that Gen 6 had. Though that's not completely a bad thing. Some long, Pokemon-style trails are a nice break from the... 10-20 steps between the first two towns in X/Y.

Nice to be able to get away from some of the ridiculousness of Gen 6 Pokemon for a while, too.

3D Graphics are nice, though I wish Gamefreak would optimize their Pokemon games or at least update them to utilize N3DS technology or something. Even lags in 2D mode sometimes if you have enough complicated Pokemon.

TL;DR Buy if you like Pokemon

Pokemon Y
9.1/10

Slightly better than Ruby IMO, mainly due to more character interactions and customizable characters (WOO BOY I'm a sucker for switching my outfits). Similar game though, but with more populated environment and a big city similar to the one in Gen 5. Has a ridiculous amount of Pokemon in the game, too, probably more original Pokemon than any other game. Which is good, because, first of all, there's something like 60 Pokemon in Gen 6? And second of all, a lot of them are crap.

TL;DR Buy if you like Pokemon.

Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
9.5/10

It's addictive.  :p Essentially the same game as on PC, with a lower screen you can draw on to take notes, which actually makes it arguably better than the PC version? Downsides are that it WAS apparently really buggy (though I've yet to see any in-game bugs, apparently most were fixed recently), and I've had it crash a few times in the 12 or 13 hours I've played. Another problem is the fps can drop slightly if you have insane amounts of tears going around. Other than that, beautiful and portable, IMO much easier to control than on PC.

But, uh, yeah. Beautiful indie game, bit easier than the original, but tons of content and fun as hell. 15$? Buy now.
