This town is home to 7 priceless properties, and they can be yours to own!

Meet Seller Troopa!

He sells all the different properties during the day! Properties range between valuable, rare and monopolising.
  • Valuable properties cost 15 coins, discounted at 10 coins in the final 5 turns. These include the star trophy and the vintage ? block.
  • Rare properties cost 20 coins, discounted at 15 coins in the final 5 turns. These include the Crown Jewels, Mario's Kart and the Luigi & Daisy statue.
  • Finally, Monopolising properties cost 30 coins, cover high-traffic areas, and have three spaces tied to them instead of two. These are discounted to 20 coins in the final 5 turns. These include the big mansion and Luigi's Mansion.
Next, meet the rent collector, Monty Mole!
He's... a double-edged sword.

By day:
  • Whenever somebody lands on a property, Seller Troopa will sell it to them for a price.
  • When a property is bought, the buyer now owns it.
  • If anybody else lands on that property, Monty Mole will take a star from that person and give it to the owner as rent.
By night:
  • Seller Troopa is asleep. Unowned properties cannot be purchased in the night.
  • Monty Mole is off-duty. And when he's off-duty, he gets... shady!
  • If you own a property and land on it during the night, nothing happens.
  • If you land on an owned property, and you have 40 coins to hand, you are able to steal that property for yourself!

Nightfall is your only chance to nab other people's properties! Save up during the day to turn the tides during the night!

The day/night cycle is daytime for 4 turns, and night-time for 2 turns.

Also scattered around are Lucky Spaces and Bad Luck Spaces, the Koopa Bank, Boo, Chance Time, Battle spaces, an Item Shop and Bowser spaces! Use these, and minigames, to earn (or lose) money throughout the game!

At the beginning of the game, you will have 25 coins rather than the usual 10. This allows you to ease in to racking up properties! Make a strategy and try to monopolise the whole of Tricktrade Town!

AND. Every 8 turns, the town will suffer an economic crash! During this time, BUYING properties only costs 5 coins, and at night, STEALING is free. Start strategising! Will you wait until the crash to take your chance, or avoid the risk and pay full price?!

(This is an update from a previous version)

Latest reviews

I'll be honest about my review. I really like the idea behind the board, property boards are a great gimmick, but I think there needs to be some changes. First, Chance Time should absolutely be in a hard to reach spot. It can be too easy for someone to get a good property, like in the middle, and make it hard to come back, especially if they don't have their own property. I also think that properties should be able to be challenged after they are purchased, since in longer games, all properties could be bought and no longer be available for competition. One last piece of feedback is I think more arrow indicators should be placed, using the actual board art rather than the arrows in Party Planner, as well as more indicators in the board art in general, like where Boo is, so it's easy to see on a first look.

There is quite a few things I liked too, don't get me wrong. I think Boo is placed in a perfect spot. Having to travel past that mansion to get to Boo is a huge risk that players should have to engage with eventually, it's done great. I enjoyed how much Bowser popped up in my game, made the economy harder to obtain and made it hard to capitalize on properties. The Lucky Space mechanic was also super fun. It was not too broken like they tend to be in modern Mario Party and added a bit of extra fun to the board.

Don't let this discourage you, of course. Keep making boards, and I guarantee you are going to improve in your craft. You have a lot of potential and I'll definitely check out stuff in the future. Good luck!
