Shy Guy is the eighteenth character in the Mario Party series. Shy Guys can be found all throughout the Mario Party games. He appears in countless mini-games as a bystander, an objective to the game, or as the host in games such as the classic Shy Guy Says. Not to be mistaken with Game Guy, Shy Guy has never had his own space in a Mario Party game. But he has had his own board twice. First he hosted a board in Mario Party 4, Shy Guy’s Jungle Jam. Then in Mario Party 8, he owned the board Shy Guy’s Perplex Express.
Shy Guy’s first appearance in the Mario Party series was in Super Mario Bros. 2, as a minion of Wart. While Shy Guys did nothing more than walk into you, they did have the intent of harming you. Shy Guys are one of the main enemies in Yoshi’s Story and in more Yoshi games. Shy Guy’s first game as a playable character was Mario Tennis for the Nintendo 64, as an unlock-able character. Shy Guy appears playable in other games such as Mario Strikers Charged and Mario Kart 7. But Shy Guys are a staple in many Mario games as enemies or just bystanders.
Shy Guy makes in Mario Party debut as a playable character in Mario Party 9. He is originally sent by Bowser, along with Kamek, to try to stop Mario and the gang from collecting the mini stars. Once you beat Story Mode, he and Kamek are unlocked.
