Pokémon GO Is Everywhere!

PokemonGOSociety has gotten their second wind of PokéMania! There have been 7.5 million downloads across iOS and Android devices for the little app and I’m sure you’ve seen people all around your town chasing Doduo’s and Abra’s and the like. Pokémon GO is also breaking records. For instance, it is the fastest game to become Number 1 on mobile charts! It took less than a day for it to reach the top! What other feats will this game get?

A New York Special

MLThe Nintendo NY location underwent renovations earlier this year and was unveiled with Mario and Luigi. Now, the brothers are “visiting” the location again on certain days between July 12th and July 22nd (you can click the image for a full version to see the the specific days). The Nintendo NY Store is a big deal since you can get a lot of neat stuff and with this event going on, why turn down the ability to get special merchandise at that NY location?

First Wind Waker, Now Star Fox

Last Tuesday, a Toon Link costume for the Palicoes of Monster Hunter Generations was announced. It appears there is a follow-up to it, as there also will be a Star Fox costume for Palicoes in that game, as well! The short video above shows the costume in action. Don’t forget, Monster Hunter Generations releases on July 15th.

New Pokémon Alert

Source: serebii.net

CoroCoro has leaked and inside were two new Pokémon. The first, on the left, is Kiteruguma. It is a Normal/Fighting type that can come with the ability “Fluffy” or Klutz. People in Alola are scared of Kiteruguma to the point of having warning signs about it. It is really strong and can break anything in two. It likes to hug its trainers but is strong. Raising one puts your life in danger. The other is Mimicyu and is a Ghost/Fairy type. It has the ability “False Colors.” Mimicyu hates sunlight, preferring dark places. It is rumoured that the cloth covering its body is a strategy to avoid the sun. Don’t try to remove the cloth it is said that those that do become afflicted with an illness. Mimicyu’s costume is based on Pikachu merch that was popular 20 years ago. It wants to be loved by people like Pikachu is. Which one do you prefer more? Personally, Mimicyu looks insanely awesome and its backstory is interesting…

The Future Looks Bright

This tweet shows that Nintendo’s stock has increased drastically since this past Thursday. It went up 53% in less than a week! No doubt we can credit this to the insane success of Pokémon GO. It is quite the shift, considering but a few weeks ago, their stock was DECREASING because of the “Brexit” situation.

GO Wild

PokemonGo1The popularity of Pokémon GO is undeniably vast and Niantic, undoubtedly, wants to make a larger profit due to just how popular it is! So, it appears that the company is looking into making sponsored locations or working with some sort of sponsorship deal. The chief executive, John Hanke, claims that this is “the second component to their business model” for what they are doing with Pokémon GO.

Waste of Money?

Source: http://wccftech.com/

So, months ago, a supposed “controller leak” for the NX fooled the internet. It was a huge deal. Apparently, the now-revealed-to-be-fake controller was on eBay and up for a lot of money. As of this time writing this, the eBay listing is taken down and I do not think anyone managed to actually snag it… do you think you would want to buy it if you had the money?

The End-All Be-All Compilation of Crazies

Pokémon GO has been all that it is in the news. With good reason, I just got the game, and trust me… EVERYONE has it. So, because 7 or 8 million people have the game, you better believe there have been some crazy things happening to people playing. The crazies are out there and I’ve reported on at least of those crazy things. GameSpot created a compilation of just some of the crazy, but real, events that have occurred because of Pokémon GO.

Pokémon GO Is Everywhere… actually, this time.

PokemonGo1Many people are upset that certain regions do not have Pokémon GO, such as in Japan. However, Niantic said that they are aiming for 200 “markets” right now including Japan, who is very eager to get their hands on the game. Their “ultimate goal” is to get the game running in South Korea because as of right now, their map functions are very restricted due to conflicts with North Korea. South Korea is the fourth largest gaming mark next to Japan, America, and china, so it makes sense Niantic wants to tap into that.

Choosing Sides

Source: splatoonus.tumblr.com

The last Splatfest is rapidly approaching us and you must have already figured out which side you are on: Callie or Marie. The Splatoon Tumblr set up some downloads for special boxart you can swap out for the standard boxart. One for Callie and one for Marie. Which do I like more, you ask? Well, of course I like Marie’s more!

Deluxe Discontinuation!

WiiU_SuperMarioMaker_char_19The Super Mario Maker Premium Pack is apparently facing discontinuation in Japan. This probably means they will also be discontinued here in the West soon enough. Basically, if you are looking to get one of them, I’d get one now. We don’t know just how much stock is out there, so you might not be able to get one even by next week!

More Color Splash Coming At You

Some more Paper Mario: Color Splash footage has come out to the public, this type it is a demonstration of the title at Hyper Japan Festival 2016. There are a lot of little details in here as they explore Bloo Bay Beach and the Crimson Tower such as the fact that Hidden Luigis are back or that the town you start off in is called Port Prisma. If you want to see more, watch the video!

Hackers Used Take Down!

PokemonGOThe hacking group Poodlecorp has claimed responsibility for today’s Pokémon GO servers being down. Yes, that wasn’t just you today, the servers were down EVERYWHERE. Apparently, Poodlecorp took down the servers but say it was a test for something bigger… which probably means another attack for a longer time. Yeah, the inconvenience is frustrating (especially because when they were taken down, I was on the hunt for a Pikachu!)

Monster Hunter Generations Releases!

Yes, today marks the release of Monster Hunter Generations in the West which means the game is out in every region. Yes, look forward to using your Hunting Arts to aid your quest in this vivid landscape. It has some great reviews, too, so it is sure to not let you down. It is only $39.99 on the Nintendo 3DS.

This video delves into the background of the games year-long development and even the inspiration behind what would become this beloved DS title. The video is a bit lengthy because there was so much that was covered within!
