Nintendo Spot is basically the major Nintendo news that blasts onto the internet and such, be it leaks or actual news, you’ll hear it from me. I, Sol, will be tackling it as soon as I can, so come here each day to see what has come out into the open!

Sunday, May 8th

Oh! Hey, I know this just a short little update, but if you are just as hyped as I am for the Callie and Marie amiibo, look! There is such a high quality picture right above this little text box of the duo. How cute!

So, I know many people are pretty much enthralled with Fire Emblem: Fates, but I don’t think you all are interested in the upcoming DLC as much as you should be. So, I found a video of AbdallahSmash’s that shows this DLC off quite well. Of course, spoilers abound and whatever, but look at how cute they all are! And the story! My! All the exclamation points are worth it for this video. Please go check it out, guys. Both the video and the actual DLC.

Pokkén Tournament’s special Pikachu controller has been confirmed to hit the states July 31st, folks! However, it will be in limited quality, so grab it fast at your local GameStop! Why GameStop in particular? Well, GameStop will be the only carrier of these special controllers. So, I suggest trying to scoop one up right around July 31st, okay?

Oh, EarthBound fans rejoice. Nintendo has yet again shown a bit of love to the special SNES game through their popular YouTube series, Nintendo Minute. The duo hosting the series is taking a look at EarthBound’s battle, graphics, and just are making the video of them having fun. However, there is a bit of twist. EarthBound is being played on a handheld compared to a console! Have you beat Kit and Krysta in regards to playing EarthBound? How do you feel about it? Also, for my sake, who is your favorite character out of the quad-set of friends by the end of the game? (Mine is Ness, sorry, I’m not original).

Zelda1

The Legend of Zelda on the NES launched in 1986 and is world-renowned within the video game industry. It seems that this video game title is getting the credit it deserves as The Legend of Zelda has entered the Video Game Hall of Fame! Just recently it was inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame in The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York with various other games, too. Super Mario Bros., another video game classic, was added last year, allowing Link to join his video game brother in this elite group of video games. What perfect timing, considering Zelda Next-Gen is slowly creeping up on us!

A special new Miitomo update is on the horizon, folks! This update is different than the standard new Miitomo drop wardrobes that can be at the player’s disposal, friends. Friend requests will be even easier to distribute such as through email (woohoo!) and there are other bits that are going to be added detailed in the picture above. For those of you still using this quirky Nintendo app, how excited are you for this?

Oh, sorry to tease you all, but I’ve saved the best for last! The first official Pokémon Sun and Moon information is quickly approaching us! How do I know? Well, it has been announced that news will be hitting us full-force on May 10th 8AM EDT (5AM PDT) and will probably leave the internet ablaze. Expect to see it trending on Twitter and Instagram. Personally, I expect the mascots and a look at the battle system, what about you? Do you agree with me? Disagree? Or perhaps, you haven’t really considered what they might be showing… any way you choose it, an update to this game we know relatively nothing about is a blessing!

Nintendo has let out a more fleshed out version for their E3 plans; you may like them, or you may not. It seems that Zelda Next-Gen is going to be their focus as there seems to be no Digital Event like in previous years for E3! Instead at 9AM Pacific Time on June 14th, Zelda Next-Gen will be introduced by Reggie Fils-Aime and shown off fully through a Nintendo Treehouse: Live event on Twitch. Nintendo says they are aiming to give attendees more time with Zelda Next-Gen if they really just focus on that for E3. For more details, look at Nintendo’s E3 site, friends.

So, for those of you who were pumped to see what was going on at Nintendo’s New York location yesterday, it was simply a showcase of Disney Art Academy. However, another event was teased that won’t be easy for the public to access, and it’s at E3! On the same day as the big Zelda Next-Gen blowout, Nintendo is having a private conference with its “business partners” that will display some of their plans up to the end of 2016. What do you think it is? We’ve yet to hear anything on many games coming this year, so perhaps that news will be held only to their “business partners” (whoever that may be) for the time being!

Ooh, a new Splatfest has been announced: fancy party dress or costume party dress? If you couldn’t tell by the picture, this Splatfest is also Miitomo themed! Just look at those little Miis posing next to the Inklings. Also, something special is happening with this Splatfest. For the first time, all regions are sharing this Splatfest! This means the players in the US could potentially play with Japanese and European players during the party. So which side are you picking: Callie with “Fancy Party” or Marie with “Costume Party.” Honestly, this will be a hard choice!

Wednesday, May 4th

Alright, going too far into speculation will get us nowhere, but the Nintendo New York center’s second floor will be closed at 1PM on May 5th for a “private event.” This could mean so many different things, but I’d like to remind you all reading that E3 right around the corner.

May the Fourth be with you! In honor of this tremendous and entirely Star-Wars-based holiday, a trailer for the game Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens New Adventures has been unleashed unto the internet. The story is explained as some of like extra details to the actual plot of Star Wars: The Force Awakens; however, I think newcomers to the Lego Star Wars will totally enjoy the plot because of its ties to the original movie. Please check it out above!

So, are you ready for something new and exciting? Are your feet feeling a bit… naked? Do you love yourself some classic Nintendo? Well, how about something that will scratch all three of those itches?! Nintendo is teaming up with the shoe company Vans and making a colorful collection of new shoes varying from colorful Princess Peach shoes to NES Controller high-tops. You should one-hundred percent check them out here. You’ll see them coming in June!

To close off today, the second Map Pack for Fire Emblem Fates that I reported on some time ago now has a gameplay trailer showing off this new story-based DLC for the game. I’m assuming you all already excited for it since the Fire Emblem games have recently become known for its excellent and plentiful DLC, but if you aren’t, perhaps this video will convince you to get this new DLC for Fire Emblem Fates!

MythicalPokemon

Info has surfaced on multiple new Pokémon giveaways. The Darkrai special event has been confirmed to actually be very similar to the Mew one back in February, meaning you must go to your local GameStop to get it. This event runs from May 1-24th. Also, after this Zygarde event ends on May 8th (in NA), a Shiny Xerneas will be available on the Global link to Pokémon players only in North America from May 11th to May 17th. Then, after this, a Shiny Yveltal will be given out through the same means from May 20th to May 26th. make sure you write all these dates down; it is a lot to keep track of!

mightyno9

It seems the long-delayed Mega-Man-inspired video game Mighty No. 9 is a go! The game has been confirmed to be releasing on June 21st to all major consoles and the PC to North America, then to the rest of the world on June 24th. As a long time Mega Man lover, I am so happy to finally be able to grab this game and play. Are you all going to get it?

The next Pokémon Global Link competition has been announced: The Johto Classic. All Pokémon going to National Dex Number 251 (with the exception of Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, and Celebi) are permitted to enter, giving a much wider range of Pokémon to play with compared to the Kanto Classic from earlier in the year. Registration will be from May 19th to May 27th, but registering sooner rather than later is always a smart idea! Please keep in mind that battles will only be with copies of Pokémon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire, not Pokémon X and Y. For more details, please click here.
