Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash Confirmed for November in North America

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash is set to release on November 20 in North America. While this exact date was already confirmed for Europe, it’s good to have the same confirmed for the next major region. Nothing shocking, but it’s still news!

The announcement was accompanied by a single image of characters in a stand. You’ve got various colors of Toads, different colored Shy Guys, Koopa Troopas, Goombas, and Spike. While the obvious thing is to write these characters off as all non-playable, the appearance of the of the standard Toad with a blue vest, a character already confirmed to be playable, makes things a little unclear. Do you think any of these characters have a chance?

To answer your question they possibly have a chance heck maybe they thought Spike was a great addition to Mario party 1and that he should be included again however its really unclear. I hope to see a few unique characters that haven’t appeared playable or on a very rare bases. Hammer Bro, Petey, Kamek, Boom Boom, Nabbit, Plessie, Cat Bowser and isn’t it aboutt time Rosalina was added.

It seems weird and cool that Spikes (enemy) are in the crowd for the first time in the entire Mario series.

That’s weird that Spike appear more games than just NSMB series.

It seems like ever since they used Spike in 3D Land/World he’s been showing up in more stuff.

AAAAAY, it releases on my half birthday, the last one released on my birthday.
BTW, where have I seen both words “Smash” and “Ultra” before, maybe back in 2012?

Here’s my prediction for this, but although I’m not sure:
1. Mii Characters (Not sure which voices will contain though.)
2. Luigi
3. Baby characters
4. Daisy

That’s all I got so far…

2 months missing and still not any new trailer and artworks.
I’m pretty sure we will get Nintendo Direct on October due to this game and the ballot.

It would be hilarious if Mario was the last unlockable character, and everyone would be pissed off.

Pfft, no one plays as Mario. I’m pretty sure only people’s grandmothers would be pissed off.

Well, considering the Mario Baseball series, and previous Mario Tennis series games, have had Toads, Koopas, and Shy Guys in the audience, I’m hopeful that Paratroopa and Shy Guy will return for this home console Mario Tennis (as they have been in all Camelot home console Mario Tennis games).

I actually noticed a few things when rewatching the reveal trailer:
https://youtu.be/PXBWAjxioSU
-Adds for Mario and Toad are seen, similar to the MK8 adds.
-Adds for Yoshi and Catherine (Birdo’s Japanese name) are also seen, which could mean they’re playable.
-There are also adds for Fire Flowers and Stars, which could mean the Item Battle Mode is back.

Also, I’m expecting a roster of around 20 characters.

One thing I noticed is 2D audience was changed into 3D as we have picture on this page.

I remember the E3 site for this game saying new characters would be making their Mario Tennis debut. So based on that I have diffetent levels of expectation: They mean Rosalina, Toadette, and Nabbit. Who were all dlc newcomers to MG:World Tour. This to me seems like the most realistic scenario. They mean characters like the Koopalings/Spike/Kamek who have been playable in other games but not Mario Tennis. Seems reasonable. They mean characters like E. Gadd, Cranky Kong, Pauline, etc. That have existed for a long time but have never been playable before. Seems like a stretch to me but… Read more »

Dang, I actually thought Spike was gaining some popularity and could become the enemy that’s playable in a lot of spin-offs.
