It is with utmost deepest regret from Nintendo and Mario Party Legacy that the fourth president of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, has passed away due to a bile duct growth. The president has gone through health issues last year, and even though Iwata’s doctors were able to remove the symptoms impacting his health, he has passed away. Aged 55, from Sunday, December 6, 1959 to Saturday, July 11, 2015, he was the man who has reigned Nintendo since May 2002.

Satoru Iwata was the guy who helped propel Nintendo to sell over 100 million Wii consoles and 150 million Nintendo DS consoles, helping Nintendo make numerous profits. As we look ahead, we can’t help but struggle to see how Nintendo from this point on will never be the same. With no more Iwata on Nintendo Directs, or even the infamous banana meme, or even the “please understand” meme, things will be looking a lot different for Nintendo and our fans. The future for Nintendo is a mystery, but this news will never escape our time with Nintendo. Rest in peace, Satoru Iwata. You will be greatly missed by many.
