Update for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Now Live

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U received an update this morning, adding 15 more stages to the compatibility list for the 8-Player Smash mode. The 316MB patch bumps the game up to Version 1.0.2 and is (shock!) required for online play. While a full list of changes is not yet available, we do have a list of the 15 stages added to 8-Player Smash:

Regular Stages

  • Mario Circuit (Brawl)
  • Luigi’s Mansion
  • Pyrosphere
  • Norfair
  • Lylat Cruise
  • Pokémon Stadium 2
  • Town and City
  • Smashville
  • Wii Fit Studio

Final Destination Stages

  • Mario Galaxy
  • Mario Circuit (Brawl)
  • The Great Cave Offensive
  • Lylat Cruise
  • Pokémon Stadium 2
  • Town and City

Take note that most of these stages have slight changes to accommodate the eight players. For example, the mansion can’t be destroyed in Luigi’s Mansion, Ridley doesn’t appear in Pyrosphere, and the background characters are gone in Town and City. Keep checking back as we get more info!

Speaking of Smash I just destroyed Master Core on 9.0 with Bowser in the 3DS version a few moments ago 🙂

Really? The best I ever did on the 3DS version was 7.0 with Yoshi.

I normally do 3.0 so I can at least earn some coins.

I completed it on 9.0 as Bowser and Yoshi. How? Customizing them with high power and defense

Wii U Updates don’t really need downloading off the eShop. Like, I didn’t have to download the Update to Purchase NSLU in NSMBU, nor did I have to download the Update for MK8.

And…just that? We can only wait that the Miiverse stage will be available when Mewtwo is, and not “few time after the game releases”, which was what they said

This is great news. There were very few stages before to accommodate 8 players making it feel rather limited so it’s nice they thought the same and put in the time and effort to extend the range of stages.

It sounded like A-MII-GA instead of Omega.

Yes he’s saying “Amiiga” and not Omega for some reason

These changes were likely done to preserve the frame rate, which is good. Keeping Smash at 60 frames per second.

Really, this is cool. But to be honest, since Brawl had 41 stages, I would have 60 stages for the Wii U version. Here’s the stages I would have: – All stages already in the game. – Miiverse. – 3D World. – Mario Party. – Mushroom Kingdom 3. – Pirate Ship (Brawl). – Triple Deluxe. – PokePark – Poke Floats (Melee) – Glittertown. – Planet Wisp – Summit (Brawl) – Nintendo Land – Sanderson’s House – Skylands I would of also increased the amount of locked characters in the Wii U version. I would have the 12 unlockable characters from… Read more »

Yea. Yet, the only Kirby stages in a Smash Bros game so far represent a Kirby game released before Kirby 64.

Out of topic, here is my theory for MP10, Boo can be a playable character, because in the minigame of MP10 that ghost caught Daisy and DK, seeing various minigames of MPIT i found that no one minigame have other Boos, only that ghost that i don’t remember their names, this could be a good clue that Boo is a playable character in MP10, here is the evidence, rembember that is a theory, i don’t know if is true, sorry for my english, i hope that all understand 😀

That boo looks rather too small for his module in fact I think one of the players is out in that mini game.

I think the Peepas appear in that minigame while Boo keeps his role from Mario Party 9 (Or a similar role).

I honestly think if Boo was playable, he would have been confirmed by now.

Boo was in Boo’s Horror Castle in Mario Party 9. He was a prop…kinda.

Well, Boo didn’t appear in any minigames in Mario Party 9, since he just appeared in Boo’s Horror Castle. I don’t think he’s playable, but I think he’ll have a role based on MP9.

Looks like Boo is playable. Because wouldn’t Boo be bigger if he wasn’t?Also, there is smoke coming from behind him like the other players and no smoke from the ghosts. It really does look like Boo’s Playable…(Just need Hammer Bro & Dry Bones and ima good)
