Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is only a month away from release, so it comes as no surprise that we are beginning to see plenty of news and media surround the upcoming title. Below are over 20 brand new screens from the game, many of which show new levels and new environments. Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
FUNKEEEEEEEEEEEY!
So Cranky’s Barrel says CK! I was right once again. Oh, and what do you think the blue balloon does?
Probably means more lives.
Funky’s back AND capsuals?
As strange as it seems, how was DKCR (to Early 2011) not delayed like this was? It was released December 2010 in all region’s but North America being November 2010. I say that if there’s indeed a Direct KRTDL Follow Up, it could be released 2 month’s before it was originally in 2011.
You seriously wine too much, can’t you be thankful? Do you know how hard it is to make a game? My best friend spent an entire 3 months to work on on a playable game that is very short, and he is still not done yet. I would also like to state that: 1. Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze releases on February 21, 2014 in North America
2. The astronomical winter (Northern Hemisphere) ends on
Wednesday, March 19
3. That is 3 weeks and five days from the day I replied to this which is
January 22, 2014
Man, I’m so excited for this game! :D. I’m really hoping those capsules will be a new collectable; something else to use banana coins on.
And am I the only one who saw the online leaderboards???? What I absolutely love about that is you can view replays; perfect for learning shortcuts through a level from other players, while making sure their record is legit.
So excited! XD this one is up there as one of my most anticipated games this year, right below Smash bros and Kirby Triple Deluxe
About those capsules, players can actually buy capsules from Funky Kong. Capsules (that remind me of Mario Party 5 a lot) award “little toy figures of characters you’ve encountered fro the game”. Like the fortune cookies from Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the capsules are random, so you won’t always earn something new. I found out about it on this video below if you want info. : )

From seeing these screenshot’s, I see you can buy Portable DK Barrel’s like DKCR3D’s New Mode (Though Cranky’s initial’s aren’t “DK”, Kiddy’s in DKC3 weren’t either, what could’ve happened to him and his brother from DK64?) and we get our first look at an Animal Buddy, which I think will be stuck to being Rambi like in DKCR, plus since there’s now an air metre underwater, using Enguarde might be harder. The announcement of Crankjy when we were hoping Kiddy seems pretty similar to the announcement’s of Kirby Triple DX when a 3DS Remake of Kirby 64 was hoped and… Read more »
The stories in Nintendo games don’t always intertwine. Just because Kiddy Kong, Kandy Kong, or even King K. Rool, didn’t show up doesn’t mean that somewhere in the world of Mario they have been executed, or that they have been simply forgotten. The developers didn’t want them to be in it. I do enjoy stories in my intake of video games, but I’m pretty sure that the Donkey Kong series, heck the whole Mario series (Mario Rpgs don’t count) isn’t known for its story.
*OFF-TOPIC*
I have a secret hope for Nintendo’s Next Gen Console:
The UNES! (Ultra Nintendo Entertainment System)
It has better graphics than X-Box One and PS4, revives a lot of Nostalgia, and has a better online feature.
I think Nintendo musn’t give up of Wii U, anyway about the next gen console I have only a thing to add, make Nintendo eShop with some free HD games.
I don’t mean the UNES is the Wii U’s replacement. I meant it as the Wii U’s future successor.
You know, I think Wii and DS are Nintendo’s high-selling points. I predict that Nintendo is going to stick with making new Wii’s and DS’s just like how Microsoft and Sony keep making new Xboxes and PlayStations. At least that’s what I hope.
Wow, these graphics are amazing.
