Looks like I’m in the minority! I absolutely loved Super Mario Galaxy 2. I felt like just about everything was improved on, and the new mechanics and ideas were some of the most creative additions we have seen in the entire Super Mario series. But I noticed that a lot of people preferred Super Mario Galaxy because it had a better storyline and a better hub world. The storyline aspect is interesting since this is a Mario game, but that’s a question for another week. This week we are asking…

Should the Lucky 7 Return in Mario Kart 8?

The Lucky 7 was a rare item introduced in Mario Kart 7 that allowed players to spin a Mushroom, a Green Shell, a Red Shell, a Banana, a Bob-omb, a Blooper, and a Star all at once. Take a look at the video below to see it in action:

It was an interesting reveal, but did it work? For those thinking it’s an invincible powerhouse, think again. Using the item comes at a risk. All the items will spin around you at all times, meaning any outside force can come in and either steal your item or simply destroy everything and set you even further back. But you can also use some strategy take advantage of so many items right at your fingertips. Take a look at two scenarios below, both good and bad:

Mario Kart 8 is coming next year, but should we expect the Lucky 7 to return? Besides the fact that the item is a reference to the title of Mario Kart 7, is there any need or any room for such an item? Do you consider it broken? Does it need to be changed in any way? Any items that need to be swapped out or any items that need to be added? Was this item a one time thing? Perhaps a Lucky 8?
