New Super Mario Bros. 2 – Over 100 Billion Coins Collected

Recently, I told you that over 36 billion coins were collected worldwide. But now, I was told that coins kept on coming, and now we have over half a hundred billion coins! Since last time, we have collected an increase of 14 billion coins. New Super Mario Bros. 2 players keep playing the game to up the worldwide coin count.

Oh, how you wish the money were real and then you could literally buy every video game in existence, even Wii U and its Mario games, such as New Super Mario Bros. U, the rumored 3D Mario game, or even those Mario game mock-ups, like Paper Mario U and Yoshi’s Island U. But sadly, we can’t. However, keep playing New Super Mario Bros. 2 and keep collecting those coins. We’re already past at an astounding 50 billion coins, which could mean that literally almost every player who has New Super Mario Bros. 2, has collected the needed one million coin mark. Now who wants to see ten hundred thousand quintillion coins? As we keep collecting coins and making the count rise, we will let you know over time!

Wednesday, August 29, 2012 Update: Satoru Iwata announced in the Japanese Nintendo Direct, that over 57 billion coins have been collected so far. That is an increase of over seven billion coins.

Wednesday, September 12, 2012 Update: It has been revealed that over 100 billion coins have been collected worldwide, as of Monday, September 10, 2012. Over 13,200 people have collected a million coins.
