Even More Details Revealed By Game Informer; Including Yoshi Details

A few days ago, we got details on New Super Mario Bros. U from Game Informer. However, they still had more to reveal, and now we have more details from them just now. We got details on Yoshi and other things. What they have now revealed are:

Yoshi Details:

  • There are three Yoshi variations
  • Pink/Magenta Yoshi can be inflated by shaking the Wii U GamePad or Wii Remote
  • This will allow you to reach higher places that you cannot by other means
  • Large surface area useful for collecting a lot of coins in the air
  • Gold Yoshi is used by shaking the controller to light up the area you are in
  • Gold Yoshi can stun nearby enemies with its ability
  • Gold Yoshis show up in the Fire Snake Caverns
  • Blue Yoshi can shoot bubbles
  • You can ride the adult (Green) Yoshi in numerous (many) levels
  • Yoshi can still eat breaks
  • Eat five fruits to fill the meter
  • By doing this will reward Yoshi’s rider with a power-up

Game Details:

  • Camera pans out in Co-Op Mode
  • This helps you to find hidden and secrets you wouldn’t normally find by playing alone
  • In Boost Mode, you can place four floating platforms (the ones with the suits) at a time
  • Use the GamePad touch screen in Boost Mode to pop (free/save) friends from bubbles, stun enemies, easily reach the flagpole, interact (manipulate) environmental objects, swat Paratroopas
  • Simply power up the Wii U GamePad to turn on Boost Mode – piece of cake
  • In Boost Rush Mode, you will go through pre-selected packs of levels
  • Collecting coins will make the auto-scroll speed up
  • You will be given a limited amount of lives at the beginning of each pack
  • The game clock does not reset when you die

We don’t know, but it’s possible that there will be more Yoshis at a time to accommodate the number of players.

Fire Snake Caverns? Is that a World, or an example of a level???

An example of a level, obviously. If it were a world, you would pretty much use Gold Yoshi all the time there.
