After plenty of rumors and speculation, Nintendo has announced that a larger version of the Nintendo 3DS will be released, simply known as 3DS XL.
The new 3DS will provide and extra 90% view area for both screens. The top screen will be 4.88 inches while the bottom screen increases to 4.18 inches. The battery life will be slightly longer than the original 3DS, but an AC power adapter will not be provided. It comes with a 4GB SD card, and will hit Japan and Europe on Saturday, July 28, 2012, while North America will get theirs on Sunday, August 19, 2012, alongside with New Super Mario Bros. 2.
