All the E3 media surrounding the Mario franchise is not over yet. New Super Mario Bros. 2 just got a hands on demo at the 3DS Showcase last night,with different modes and gameplay elements explained.
Cooperative play with a partner is confirmed, as well as In Coin Rush Mode, players will run through three different levels collecting as many coins along the way as possible. These three levels will then be sent out with StreetPass, allowing receivers to challenge themselves to beating your high score record for coins. No word if any of these features will be playable online.
