Mario Party 4

Mario Party 4 made the jump to the GameCube and got a visual update with new boards, lots of minigames, and the new mega and mini item mechanic.

The boards in Mario Party 4 were modeled in full 3D for the first time and characters and minigames looked better than ever. The new mega and mini item mechanic led the biggest change in board gameplay but Mario Party 4 didn’t stray too far from the formula that worked so well in its predecessor.

Items

Mega Mushroom 5 coins Roll two dice blocks and steal 10 coins from anyone you crush along the way. Can’t access events or the star in this form.
Mini Mushroom 5 coins Roll a 1-5 dice block. You can enter pipe gates and other board events in this form.
Super Mega Mushroom 15 coins Roll three dice blocks and steal 10 coins from anyone you crush along the way. Can’t access events or the star in this form.
Super Mini Mushroom 15 coins Roll two 1-5 dice blocks. You can enter pipe gates and other board events in this form.
Warp Pipe 10 coins Randomly swamp places with another player.
MiniMega Hammer 10 coins Randomly become mega or mini. Use on yourself or an opponent.
Chomp Call 15 coins Call forth a group of Chain Chomps to move the star to another location.
Swap Card 15 coins Trade all your items for another randomly chosen player’s items.
Gaddlight 15 coins Keeps you safe from any Boo attack. Only has one use!
Sparky Sticker 15 coins Leave an electric stamp on your current space, forcing anyone who passes over it to lose 10 coins.
Boo’s Crystal Ball 25 coins Summons Boo to your location. Five coins to steal coins and 50 coins to steal a star.
Magic Lamp 30 coins Warps you to the star. You still have to purchase the star yourself!
Item Bag 30 coins Randomly receive three items.
Bowser Suit From Bowser Roll the dice block and steal 30 coins from anyone you pass. Super Rare.

Spaces

Blue Space Gain 3 coins.
Red Space Lose 3 coins.
Happening Space Activates event. Depends on board and placement.
Mushroom Space Receive either a Mega Mushroom or a Mini Mushroom.
Bowser Space Starts Bowser event.
Fortune Space Activates Reversal of Fortune event.
Warp Space Throws you to another player’s space.
Battle Space Starts a Battle minigame.
