The Olympic Games

Didn't see an official topic for this so I thought I'd make one. What is your opinion on the Olympics? I personally absolutely love watching them, and I would really like to go see some events in person some day.
Also, the candidates for the 2024 Olympics include LA, I'm hoping that it gets chosen.

And I never cared about who wins or not. All of those participating are the best on what they're doing after all. (But it would be nice if Mexico or a country I like would get a good score )

I prefer the Winter Olympics over the summer tbh. Will watch this year, great way to spend time with family, but if the U.S. doesn't win I won't be butthurt.

So, about those Swimming Events...

One swimming event actually takes place in a river and not a pool.

I prefer the Winter Olympics over the summer tbh. Will watch this year, great way to spend time with family, but if the U.S. doesn't win I won't be butthurt.

Both types of Olympics have some sports that I enjoy watching though I suppose I prefer the Summer since the US does better in that.

I'll probably watch some of the wrestling, that's about the only interest I have in it, though. Maybe table tennis or something like that too.

I usually focus on Track/Field, Basketball, Swimming, and Gymnastics. I can tell you right now that we'll take home a lot of gold in the Track events, we have some pretty speed demons~

Ledecky's swim was amazing. I was literally cheering for her on the couch. What an amazing athlete.

I have to rant though: I think Lilly King was a b**** when it came time to swim against that Russian athlete. I mean yes, she was accused of doping and she was suspended for a time from competition but for these Olympics she came clean and was trying to assert herself back into professional position. She did not utter a word to King but King insisted on running her mouth anyways. The Olympics are supposed to be about unity and brotherhood; King did not show it tonight and she did not deserve to win the Gold. Call me a traitor to my country, but she has terrible sportsmanship.

I loved the Olympics! They were in my city! I went to 2 games and it was awesome! I really miss them, 3 weeks was too little and the opening ceremy was... indescribable!
