Bowser kidnaps Peach at the Sticker Fest and scatters the six Royal Stickers across the land. The intro:

Peach say a few lines, with Bowser staying silent throughout the entire game. It's the only thing that disappoints me about the game, as I still think the game was great.

A basic story at it's best, but one I was ready for with wide, open arms because I can fight Bowser and feel no guilt about it; he is a bad guy, so I can crush the final boss and feel good about it.
