Yes. Splatoon, is one of the fresher IPs(pun intended), and is widely enjoyed by Nintendo fans. There's a playstyle to fit anyone and no limit to skill, and even if you don't want to fight online, there's single player, which is big enough to be it's own game. There's a vast amount of weapons and gear, it'll keep you coming back, with more on the way. Each battle is different, and unique, and simply addictive. Already 3 modes, whether for casuals,or hardcore. Team matchmaking is coming in August, which will be VERY BIG, since a lot of people like playing in private lobbies and teams. More gear is coming in August, and more technical stages. Speaking of stages, there's already a ton of them, which all are great to play on.That's not all. The gameplay is so smooth, and the visuals are great. The music is outstanding, and different, in a good way. Getting into Splatoon is something you don't want out once you're in.
Okay, I'm going to add something: WHY should I get it? Y'all are being too broad when saying it like "it's fun". HOW is it fun?

And to answer your "WHY" question, I say this: Why not? I know that sounds weak, but really, there is very little that is bad about this game. Past lag (which, as a MKW player, you should know about very well) or the occasional rage quit (again, something you as an MKW player should know quite a bit about) there is NOTHING that would be important enough to deter you from buying the game.

Even if you don't like shooter games, you might like this one. The goal is not only the kill the others. I wasn't sure about this game at first, but when I started playing it, it was AWESOME and now I'm glad I bought it. Why should you buy it? Because it's original, fun and why not lol. Seriously, IDK, it's up to you, but if you buy it, you will not regret it

Splatoon is one the best games on the Wii U in my opinion.
The Hero Mode, Octo Valley, is relatively easy with a bit of challenge.
Turf War, just seems like it could go on forever, always fun.
Splat Zones and Tower Control are both very fun and enjoyable, especially when taking people out with chargers.
More new modes will also come.
Splatoon is one the best games on the Wii U in my opinion.

If you like third-person shooting and online matches, then this game is definitely for you. If you don't like shooting, then Splatoon is not for you. I think even if you don't like it, you could still well have a lot of fun. Big update coming next week, too, so maybe that can affect your decision.
