Poison is a character from the Street Fighter and Final Fight series of games. Poison first appeared in Final Fight alongside a similar character, Roxy, later appearing in Capcom-produced games in the Street Fighter series. Originally conceived as a female thug in Final Fight and part of the game's antagonist group, Mad Gear, concerns about reactions from North American audiences to fighting women resulted in the character being changed to a newhalf, and further replaced by male characters in the Super Nintendo release of the game. After the Final Fight series she later appeared alongside wrestler Hugo, acting as his manager, with her schemes revolving around finding a tag team partner for him or developing their own wrestling organization. Poison's gender have been debated by fans and critics alike for ages. Despite being a newhalf a transvestite or a post ob transexual Poison has always been displayed as very feminin. It even goes as far as her wearing a bikini. Many new fans of the Final Fight or Street Fighter series are made fun of because they are unaware that Poison is in fact male and so they call her "sexy" and say "Id do her". To this day Poison had remained popular because of the debate about her gender but for her twin Roxy it is a different story. Roxy was long forgotten only reappearing as a pallet swap for Poison in a few games.
