Playable Characters

I think it's safe to assume that the normal characters will be playable in modes outside of Toad Scramble. That said, who do you think will be part of the roster?

If you want to avoid having duplicate characters, you'll need at least 16 different chracters. So far we've seen:

Mario
Luigi
Peach
Yoshi
Wario
Donkey Kong
Daisy
Waluigi (mentioned on Treehouse Live)
Rosalina
Toadette (confirmed through fact sheet)

From there we also have the following characters through amiibo:

Toad
Boo
Diddy Kong
Bowser

Toad will likely be playable in the other modes but not Toad Scramble, so let's assume he doesn't count in the 16. Bowser is a boss, so let's rule him out as well. With that, we have four more characters that haven't been revealed.

The next group of characters were all playable at one point in the Nd Cube games. Kamek is a boss and Bowser Jr. will likely have a different role, so my guess is that Birdo, Koopa Troopa, Shy Guy, and Spike are the last four characters.

I think the 4 last characters will be :shyguy:, :birdo: and 2 newcomers, since they usually add 2 newcomers in the main series lately (MP 7, 8, and 10 all added 2 new characters, 9 added 3 new).
In handheld MP games, there are rarely any newcomers (only :ssb4bowserjr: in IT), but this game needs a lot of playable characters because of Toad Scramble.
So for the new playable characters, personally, :toadsworth: and Luma would be nice. I guess Baby Mario is a possibility, although he usually appears with another baby.

Knowing Nintendo, I wouldn't be surprised if the newcomers are a Sprixie Princess and a random enemy like Monty Mole lol.

In all seriousness, I would love to see Dry Bones come back... and I'm pretty sure Boo is a given.

Yeah, since Boo has an amiibo, it's likely Boo will be playable. That being said, I hope that means Diddy Kong is also playable.

Also, there's evidence to support the fact Boo may as well be playable. In the boss with King Boo, notice King Boo's underlings are Peepas instead of Boos.

Since Alt as Toad have their basic alt colors- Blue, Green, and Yellow.

Would it be possible if Metal Mario or Fire Mario as Mario's alt? I do want costumes / power-up feature from Mario Party 2 return.

Regarding Dry Bones, having an artwork at the same time as 2 bosses might make him also a unconfirmed boss
Hammer Bro and Blooper can be playable IF, Sledge Bro (any other Bro) and Gooper Blooper are Bosses

Ohhhh Sprixie is a good choice too! I'd like a Wave 3 of Mario amiibo too with Toadette, Nabbit, Dry Bones, Birdo, Sprixie and Bowser Jr (not in his clown car)

To me I think Nintendo will include  :birdo: and maybe even :hammerbro: and :blooper: or instead of those two they could include  :koopa: and :shyguy:
Usually Nintendo at least adds two new characters to the party so since Diddy Kong is one I think the other may be Nabbit or Sprixie Fairy.

P.S. Though I REALLY want Luma. :3

Most likely they'll have an amiibo for every playable in this. Boo and Diddy are basically confirmed even though no appearances in gameplay.
I'd love for Hammer Bro. and Dry Bones to come back, but I don't think Dry Bones will happen because of the fact that he's probably a boss given his artwork.
EDIT: I don't think they're gonna bring Hammer Bro. back, but...
