Only 5% Of New Super Mario Bros. 2 Consumers Bought Download Version

This is from MyNintendoNews.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Demon Training are the first Nintendo games that were released at both Japanese retailers and the Nintendo 3DS eShop. According to Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, in Japan, 5% of those who purchased New Super Mario Bros. 2 bought the downloadable version of the game, and 20% of Demon Training consumers downloaded the title from the Nintendo eShop.

I thought this would happen, and the download takes about an hour anyways. :p

Odd, I'd think that it would be more convenient to have it on the memory instead of having to switch out cartridges every time you want to play something different.  Well, we'll see how it goes in America when it releases

I think it's because as of now, there aren't enough good 3DS games so you won't be switching very often.

Say what now?

In my opinion there aren't many games that look all that good to me.

I hope the digital release here in NA does just as bad, if not, worse.

That's what you get Nintendo for putting up a scam of BUY THE PHYSICAL AND DIGITAL AND GET 300 COINS. HERP-A-DERP
I think it's only 150 coins in total, unfortunately. Which is a huge rip-off if you ask me. Otherwise, do it too late and it's only 100. :p

For downloads, like most say, it depends on how fast your internet connection is. Sometimes it takes over 45 minutes, sometimes it takes under 10 minutes.

Again, there's pros and cons for having the physical copy or the digital copy. More people are likely to buy the physical copy since you'll have the case and all the data doesn't have to be saved into the SD Card.

Took me about 20-30 minutes to download, and I certainly don't have the fastest internet.

I think a major concern about downloading big games like this is the fact that the game is tied to your system and not some kind of account.

Exactly I mean seriously people this aint some little eshop game that's probably 150 MB or less. It's like around 600 MB? I don't know, but it would take longer to download.

I would love to see how much you guys would complain to download a full game for the 360 or the PS3. >.>

I'm surprised that a lot people didn't buy into the offer. But I am not surprised that most people bought retail copies. Physical games are just not going anywhere anytime soon.

0_o 150 coins for the SAME game that isn't even that good? Also most of the rewards on Club Nintento are s*** anyway.

Just like how I'm sure Nintendo will claim that their Nintendo Wii U will be the best system ever. And prolly much like how Microsoft claims their 360 is the best ever(it's only common sense that rival companies think this).

I dunno if what you said corresponded to my post is your biased opinion on the PS3 or not. If you really base on a system being bad due to slow download time... Then...I dunno...

No, no, I don't like the PS3 all that much in general. But the download time is atrocious.

Not surprised there, retail has its benefits of not having to store games onto the SD card. I hate the download times...they're what drives me away from the digital market, besides the whole storage thing. Even though I upgraded to an 8GB SD card, that space is intended for virtual console games, patches, and possibly DLC.

Off-topic, even with decent internet speed, it'll take 2+ hours to download the MGS4 trophy patch. :p
