We are four days away from getting our hands on Mario Kart 8, one of the most highly anticipated games of this year. As each day seems to slow down to a crawl as we get closer and closer to May 30, let’s take a moment to reflect on what the game has to offer!
Let’s get this out of the way. A lot of people are upset and confused with Mario Kart 8’s roster of playable characters. Characters like Diddy Kong, Birdo, and Dry Bones are missing from the playable cast, while five babies, seven Koopalings, and two metal versions of already playable characters all take up spots in the roster of 30 characters. There are many reasons to dislike the roster, but for this article let’s focus on what we do have.
Who do you think you’re going to use the most in Mario Kart 8? Since Dry Bones did not make the cut in Mario Kart 7, I had to settle with Shy Guy, a cool and deserving Mario Kart racer. Since this seems to be the case once again, you’ll be seeing me using the mysterious masked man quite often. For reference, here is the list of playable characters from the start:
